What Do We Need to Do When an Employee Changes Their Name?

  • Obtain a copy of the employee’s updated Social Security card to upload into the employee’s isolved documents.
  • Contact PBS to update the employee’s name in isolved.
  • PBS will update the employee’s benefits (if applicable).
  • If the change is related to marriage or other qualifying events, the employee may want to update their federal and state tax withholding, and benefit elections (if within 30 days of a qualifying life event).
  • If driving is on the employee’s job duties, request an updated version of the driver’s license for your records.
  • Update company phone lists, email accounts, business cards, employee badges, uniforms, name plates, etc.
  • Work with the employee to determine how best to communicate the name change.
